Lemon Kisses - think I might have put too much lemon juice in the buttercream but I sure my work colleagues will still devour them.

I got an email this afternoon to say I’d won a copy of this book, yay! I never win anything (apart from this laptop) and I’d completely forgotten I’d entered the competition so it was a nice surprise.
Eric Lanlard’s cakes are amazing, I could only aspire to be as good as him one day.

On the suggestion of teawithlemon.tumblr.com, I made cinnamon buns for the first time this morning. The icing was a little lumpy as I didn’t soften the butter for long enough, but hell, they taste good.

Not sure they’d be up to Mary Berry’s standard but they smell good - cheese and mustard scones.

- Day 29: What did you want in your stocking this year?
My Mum didn’t do us stockings this year which is unusual. I was hoping for Russell Howard’s new DVD but didn’t get it; although no one had asked what I wanted for Christmas, I thought someone might have spotted it (I know that sounds really ungrateful!). I did get this cake/carry tin which will be useful for taking cakes to work, although I will have to take the cake out to decorate it…
